My name is Jackie Sue Beriault and I am currently the Kindergarten teacher here at St. John the Baptist School.
Born in Daly City and raised in Milpitas, my academic endeavors began at the age of 5, in the current classroom I teach in. I have had the privilege of attending Catholic schools for majority of my life, and St. John the Baptist provided me with the foundation that helped me become a successful individual.
As a person of faith, I strongly believe in sharing God's blessings with everyone around us. This is one of the reasons I came back to teach at a school that once taught me about God's great love and the power it entails.
As a life-long learner, I was able to take the tools I was given at St. John's and create a successful career in teaching. Although I grew from Mrs. Fager's teacher's aide to Prekindergarten teacher to Kindergarten teacher, there were always lessons learned and chances to grow. If it were not for these opportunities, I would not be the person I am today!
As a physically and emotionally well-rounded individual, I am able to lead my classroom by example. In Kindergarten, students are just learning how to take care of themselves, cooperate with one another and learn what it means to be a friend. One of the joys of teaching such a young age is that I am able to help shape my students into confident, disciplined and caring individuals (while having lots of fun at the same time!).
I came back to teach at St. John the Baptist School because I believe in what it stands for: "educating the whole child in a caring environment that guides and supports spiritual, intellectual, social, psychological, and physical growth." I came back to give back to a community that helped shape me into who I am today. I can only hope to provide the same for every student who walks, hops, skips or jumps through my doors.
